Public Mission: CRIMEAN CONFRONTATION - CAS

Beitrag von Woodstock » 15. Nov 2008, 09:01

Are you up for some massive Air-to-Ground action?
But beware: it´s Russia vs. Ukraine, both sides use the same COMBLOC vehicle and aircraft types!
Carefull identification if friend or foe is a must.
Be ready to step into a "target-rich environment"!
The "Crimean Confrontation - Close Air Support".

Mission Briefing:

"CRIMEAN CONFRONTATION CAS"
16 vs. 16 Air-To-Ground CAS MISSION

Settings: Full Real

Server Rules:
- No pings of 400 or greater. Check your ping and if neccessary, leave voluntarily or you might be kicked without pre-warning.
- No cheating, no LOPEd loadouts. Violators will be banned!
- Vulching allowed
- For takeoff and landing always use the runway most nearly aligned with the wind.
- DO NOT TAKE OFF FROM TAXIWAYS OR APRONS! Violators will be kicked!
- For best gaming experience use our public Teamspeak2 server for comms and the JaBoG32-ATC-Client for AWACS/GCI.
See download and connection infos down at the end of this briefing.

- RULE No.1: HAVE FUN and respect the other players!
LockOn is the best game because of the great people that play it. Keep up the spirit and values of the community!

Weather Briefing:
- Season: Autumn
- Mission Start Time: 1000 local
- Temperature: +10°C
- Visibility: 80 km
- Clouds: Few at 6000 ft
- Wind: 120°/9 kt

Runways in use:
- Belbek: 07
- Kerch-Bagerovo: 05

Mission Background:
Russia (Red Side) vs. Ukraine, USA and Georgia (Blue Side).
Red Side has invaded the Crimean Peninsula and has pushed until west of Kirovskoe.
Both sides are trying to destroy enemy ground vehicles and installations while the ground war has come to a temporary halt.

Tasks:
- Conduct CAS over the FEBA
- Destroy enemy tanks and APCs and other vehicles
- Search and destroy enemy supply convoys
- Engage enemy air defense units
- Engage enemy artillery
- Destroy enemy bunkers, FARPs and bunkers

Flyable Aircraft
(in order of appearance in the respective aircraft list):
Red Coalition (Russia)
8 x Su-25T from Kerch-Bagerovo Airbase
8 x Su-25 from Kerch-Bagerovo Airbase

Blue Coalition (Ukraine, Georgia and USA)
4 x Su-25 from Belbek Airbase
8 x A-10A from Belbek Airbase
4 x Su-25T from Belbek Airbase

Waypoints (for all aircraft of both sides):
WP1: Target Area, Frontline, Bullseye
WP2: Home Airbase
- Waypoint 1 can be used as bullseye for both sides. Coordinates: N45°02'43'' E34°54'51''
- If you draw a line from North to South through WP1, you have the frontline (FEBA).

Rules of Engagement:
You are weapons free on all enemy air and ground targets. Use caution since both sides use the same weapons of COMBLOC origin, except for the American A-10 aircraft. The FEBA is a precise line from North to South through WP1, everything west of it is Blue, everything east of it is Red. Blue units are generally pointing in an easterly direction, Red ones face mostly west. Navigate precisely, identify visually if in doubt. Especially Su-25(T) aircraft might only be distinguishable by their nation markings, not necessarily by paintscheme. Avoid firing upon friendlies at all costs!

Gameplay Hints:
- If you crash on an airbase without exploding, DO NOT EJECT! Please quit the mission completely
and rejoin from the menu, or you will leave debris on the tarmac and endanger other players.
- If the RWR volume annoys you, you can adjust it with Alt-,(Comma) and Alt-.(Period).
- Aircraft System Failures: If you lose a more or less important system of your aircraft in flight, it must not neccessarily be due to weapon damage. All systems might fail at a fairly realistic probability rate.

Attention: You can not log in to the ATC client while flying on the LockOn server at the same time. This is to prevent cheating by pilots that use multiple computers. The ATC server will kick you when you try to fly and to use the ATC client simultaneously.
So it is either flying OR controlling! Teamspeak is the only way of communication between controllers and allied pilots.
